A celebrant's role at a wedding

Picture
Do you envisage your wedding being a bit different to the ones you've been to before?

If weddings in a church or registry office don't float your boat then you need to think about speaking with a celebrant. With a celebrant you can separate the legal part of your marriage from the ceremony that you want to enjoy with family and friends.

The legal part has to be done with a registrar, who is employed by the local authority. This part of your wedding must be held in a licensed area, also the content of the ceremony is dictated by legislation and no religious or spiritual content can be included. Any readings must be seen and approved before the ceremony. To you, this may all sound a bit serious - if it does then don't worry, you aren't alone.

This is why people choose to have their friends and family celebrate at their own unique ceremony.

Couples choosing a celebrant-led wedding tend to get the legal part out of the way a few days before, leaving them free to enjoy their wedding day as they truly want. They are able to choose the location, the readings, poems - as well as who takes part.

These relaxed weddings can see flowers replaced with balloons, several people chosen to be best man, important family members involved in a unique way. With a celebrant wedding the world is your oyster.

If you have any ideas you want to discuss please get in touch - or I can talk you through wedding locations, poems and readings that you may find useful.

A wedding is about celebrating your life together and should be shaped around you as a couple
Let's work together to give you the wedding of your dreams
